v0.2.7 (July 02, 2023)#

This update introduces minor changes and improvements over v0.2.6, including bug fixes and API adjustments.

  • API change The function fetch_data_from_repo in watex.geology.core is now deprecated. It has been replaced by watex.utils.baseutils.get_remote_data() for enhanced functionality and better integration.

  • Fix An issue with geographical coordinates being provided as strings in watex.geology.DSDrill_build_geology() has been corrected. All numerical arguments are now automatically converted to numeric types to ensure accurate drillhole construction.

  • Fix The watex.utils.funcutils.str2columns() function now consistently converts text values to strings before parsing, eliminating parsing errors related to unexpected data types.

  • Feature New utility function watex.utils.baseutils.save_or_load() introduced for efficient saving and loading of Numpy arrays. Similarly, watex.utils.baseutils.array2hdf5() has been added for seamless handling of arrays with HDF5 format.

  • Feature The watex.geology.core.GeoBase.find_properties() method has been implemented to facilitate the discovery of rock and structural properties or to constrain geological information to match entries in the AGSO database.

  • Feature Enhanced functionality of watex.geology.build_drillholes() allows for manual construction of specific drillholes through the kind parameter.

  • Enhancement The watex.utils.read_data() function has been updated to support reading data in text (txt) and Numpy formats (.npy and .npz), broadening its usability.

  • Enhancement Nanshan land subsidence data has been added to the dataset collection. The watex.datasets.nlogs() function now accepts ls (land subsidence) as an argument, enabling the retrieval of subsidence data by specifying the years parameter.

  • Enhancement The watex.geology.DSDrill class now features the watex.geology.DSDrill.set_drillholes() method, which supports drillhole construction with valid data provided to the fit method. For pre-construction analysis, watex.geology.DSDrill.get_properties() can be utilized to obtain necessary drillhole parameters.
